      FAQ

      FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How much fiber should I be consuming on a daily basis?

Health Canada recommends 25 grams of fiber per day for women, and 38 grams for men. Unfortunately, most Canadians are only getting about half that much.  Adding FiberCel to your healthy diet will help ensure you are getting the fiber you need.

How many grams of fiber is in each serving of FiberCel?
Each serving (1 scoop = 4 level tsp) contains 5 grams of soluble fiber.  Each can of FiberCel contains 60 x 5 g servings of fiber.

What is the ingredient in FiberCel?
The only ingredient in FiberCel is powdered corn fiber, a resistant maltodextrin, soluble dietary fiber, fully 90+% resistant to digestion by the human digestive system.

Does FiberCel cause bloating or cramping?
No.  FiberCel increases beneficial bacteria and is gradually fermented, which causes less gas production in the intestines.

      Does FiberCel contain gluten?
No.  Although corn contains insoluble protein classified as "gluten" it does not contain the gliadin protein responsible for celiac spruce disease.  FiberCel (resistant maltodextrin) is made from the wet milling of corn, and may be safely consumed by people with this condition.

Do I need to consume extra water when taking FiberCel?
No, although extra water is always beneficial for constipation.

How many calories does FiberCel provide?
Each 5g serving of fiber (1 scoop = 4 level tsp) contains 9 calories.

Does FiberCel interfere with my medications?
No. FiberCel can be taken with your medication.

      Will FiberCel give me diarrhea?
FiberCel is well tolerated in the digestive system.  A laxative effect may be experienced if consuming above 70 grams of FiberCel per day.

      Is FiberCel renal friendly?
Yes, it contains no Potassium or Phosphorus, making it safe for people with kidney disease.

      Can I cook with FiberCel?
Yes, FiberCel is a tasteless, non-thickening fiber making it virtually undetectable when cooking!

      Is FiberCel flavored?
No. FiberCel is a taste-free powder that can be added to most food and drinks without altering the texture or taste.

Will FiberCel clump or gel up?
No. FiberCel was formulated to be incorporated into all types of beverages, processed foods, cultured dairy products, frozen dairy desserts, confections, dietary supplements and will not clump or gel up.

What is the shelf life of FiberCel?
FiberCel's shelf life is 18 months (opened and unopened).

Are there any limitations of FiberCel usage?
In general there are no limitations to use. FiberCel is generally recognized as safe (GRAS) by the FDA as maltodextrin. In some applications (e.g., specific baked goods, processed meats) careful consideration(s) on how FiberCel is applied may be necessary.
